Ablo Mix


Abolo or Ablo is sweet and slightly sour, steamed dumpling which is popular in Ghana, Togo, Côte D’Ivoire and Benin.
Abolo is made with Corn and Rice flour, Sugar, Baking powder and yeast. See recipe below:

Easy to make Ablo.

if you overcook, it will turn orange


Add 1 cups WARM water to the Ablo flour and mix thoroughly.

Covered with a wet towel and place in a warm area for 30-45 min. (Between 68 F and 100 F / The mixture should be airy and lighter).

Add a pinch salt mix again.

Poor in 10-12 cupcake mold (filled 3/4). Let it rise to the top (30-45 mins).

Steam the dough for about 15-30 minutes or until it becomes firm and will hold a shape when molded.

Allow to cool enough to handle, remove the Ablo from the mold and serve.
